We are proud to have a protein science facility furnished with state-of-the-art equipment coupled with an experienced team of scientists. We have a proven track record of expressing and purifying material across an extensive range of protein classes using innovative target-dependent approaches.

Expression

Multiple expression systems: E. coli, yeast, insect, and mammalian cell

Plate-based expressions to assess multiple constructs / mutants in parallel before proceeding to large-scale

Purification

Over 25 years of experience working with a range of protein classes and difficult to express proteins (intracellular, secreted, kinases, proteases, and protein complexes)
Full range of chromatographic purification techniques including Affinity, Ion Exchange (IE), Hydrophobic Interaction (HIC), Reverse-Phase and Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)
State of the art ÄKTA™ chromatography systems, comprised of ÄKTA Pure™ and Avant systems
Optimisation of purification processes
Site-specific labelling of proteins with e.g. biotin, fluorophores, DBCO
Proven record of producing crystallographic-grade protein to enable structure studies
